Nokia usually provides up to 2 years of firmware support for their business-oriented Communicators (and up to 1 year for their popular consumer models), so we are sure that we will see a number of firmware upgrades in the future that not only fix bugs but also add small new features. 3.1 and the phone came by default with the latest available firmware. The E90 is running Symbian OS v9.2, S60 rel.
In the box we found the handset, a battery, a 512 MB microSD card, a charger, a beautiful belt case, a stereo headset and the appropriate CDs/manuals. The smartphone weighs 210 grams, although it doesn’t feel too big because of its ultra-wide design.

It also comes with a 2.5mm headphone jack, full GPS support, Push to talk for usage outside of USA, FM radio, a 3.2 MP camera with autofocus, and a secondary QCIF video-call camera. It uses the Nokia connector for charging, but for data exchange it’s using a standard miniUSB 2.0 port.

Getting me a device with firmware from two days ago! Watch this space for news of anything I spot that's fixed/changed/new. Streaming wireless music is very practical and has a great range, from my tests at least. The good news is that (despite scaremongering in the forums) A2DP most definitely IS here and works brilliantly.
#TEMA NOKIA E90 TV#
There have been many rumours about the E90 supporting TV Out, in the same way as the N93 and N95, but I haven't seen any evidence of this and there's no 2.5mm jack to multimedia lead included here. And there's the 130MB or so of internal flash memory as well, so no shortage of storage.īooting up for the first time. Most production E90s will ship with a 512MB microSD so that users can get started with adding music, country maps, etc.
#TEMA NOKIA E90 PC#
Missing from the official sales package was the PC Suite (etc) DVD-ROM, which will be produced at the last minute, presumably to pick up the very latest PC Suite version. However, this is my first chance to see the full sales package, along with release candidate firmware (7.21) and an 'almost black' device colour scheme (which looks superb, by the way, the build quality on these E90s is astounding, especially considering they're technically still prototypes). I guess 'production' units are still a couple of weeks away. First of all, it's NOT a production E90, it's still technically a prototype.
